mcgarrybowen was founded in 2002 in New York City. We are an agency built on the belief that clients deserve better. Using that simple premise, we’ve built enduring relationships
with some of the world’s most iconic brands.

In 2008, mcgarrybowen became part of the Dentsu Network, and over the past three years, we have been named Agency of the Year three times (Ad Age: 2009, 2011; Adweek: 2011). Along the way,
Dentsu and mcgarrybowen have worked hand in hand toward creating a global mcgarrybowen network.

Now we are thrilled to announce the expansion of our London office. This growth is instrumental in helping clients reach every potential consumer and every potential touchpoint across the globe.
We are committed to partnering with our clients wherever they go, and today those goals have taken a giant leap forward. Together, we’ll continue to make great strides.

Papercamp

(By Camille).

I like an event where ‘general milling’ and ‘making’ constitute the main part of the schedule.

Papercamp 2 happened on Saturday and I was there. It was described as ‘primary school for adults’, possibly something to do with the large number of grown-up men walking around with scissors and bits of tape stuck to their shoe (I even had to leave early because my mum came to get me). The words ‘art therapy’, ‘nursing home’ and ‘low security wing’ were also heard (via @moleitau).

I went there to show a couple of paper-based projects to paper afficionados (Harima-san’s amazing Asahi Shimbun and our collaboration with Wallpaper Magazine.  He couldn’t be there so I made a Harima-shaped cardboard cutout) but mainly to mill around, talk to pretty inspiring people, and make.

There was a Fab Lab on a budget (cardboard boxes and stickers by Stuart Bannock). Matt Brown and Matt Jones from Berg talked about paper AR. Jane Audas who writes Shelf Appeal showed an example of a really hot egg box design from Sainsbury’s and a very pretty fold-away elephant by George Him.

I had to run but heard that Laura Dickinson’s paper shapes were pretty impressive. Read more about her and everyone else here.

Here’s a drawing I made. I call it ‘The Main Bits From Memory’.

Look at these pictures and those.  We’ll hopefully see each other at the next one.
