mcgarrybowen was founded in 2002 in New York City. We are an agency built on the belief that clients deserve better. Using that simple premise, we’ve built enduring relationships
with some of the world’s most iconic brands.

In 2008, mcgarrybowen became part of the Dentsu Network, and over the past three years, we have been named Agency of the Year three times (Ad Age: 2009, 2011; Adweek: 2011). Along the way,
Dentsu and mcgarrybowen have worked hand in hand toward creating a global mcgarrybowen network.

Now we are thrilled to announce the expansion of our London office. This growth is instrumental in helping clients reach every potential consumer and every potential touchpoint across the globe.
We are committed to partnering with our clients wherever they go, and today those goals have taken a giant leap forward. Together, we’ll continue to make great strides.

Mia Nilsson

From the Making Future Magic! series.

Our first collaborator on Making Future Magic! was Mia.

“I don’t often get asked to do type treatments and when I do, I find it tricky not to include characters. I always feel type can be a little cold and rigid so I wanted to make sure there was some level of movement and humanity in my drawing… The hands are literally creating the image – showing that many hands indeed make light work. And I guess you need that when your task is to make future magic.”

Since graduating from Central Saint Martins with an illustration degree and masters in animation, Swedish artist Mia Nilsson’s work has been featured in publications including the Independent, the Guardian and Esquire. Her work has even been painted onto a gigantic building in Stockholm, courtesy of Levi’s. Currently, Mia is developing a series of children’s books and her first, an ABC picture book, is coming out soon.
